Most tools now give you several models at very different prices, and almost no guidance about which one a given job needs. So people do one of two things: run the expensive one for everything, or run the cheap one and get frustrated.
The fix is a small file that makes the assistant state its recommendation before it starts — which model this task actually needs, and why, in one line.
The credit saving is real but it is not the main benefit. The main benefit is that after a couple of weeks of seeing that line, you have internalised the pattern yourself, and you no longer need the file. The best plugs make themselves unnecessary.
